The Role

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated General Teaching Assistant to join our passionate and enthusiastic team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of our pupils, supporting their individual needs and contributing to their overall educational experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide support to individual pupils and small groups, as directed by the class teacher

  • Assist in the delivery of tailored interventions for pupils with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)

  • Facilitate and encourage positive learning experiences, promoting a love of learning and intellectual curiosity

  • Contribute to the creation of a safe, stimulating, and inclusive environment for all pupils

  • Support the class teacher in the preparation and delivery of lessons

  • Participate in the assessment and monitoring of pupil progress, providing feedback to the teacher

Requirements:
  • Relevant experience working with primary-aged pupils, particularly those with SEND

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues

  • A genuine passion for supporting the educational and personal development of children

  • Flexibility, creativity, and a willingness to go the extra mile

  • Strong organisational and time management skills

Desirable Qualities:
  • Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role

  • Knowledge of effective teaching and learning strategies

  • Familiarity with relevant SEND best practises

Salary and Benefits:

This position is graded at CD Point 2-4, offering a competitive salary and the opportunity to work in a supportive and nurturing environment.

The position comprises 24 hours and 55 minutes General Teaching Assistant hours plus 3 hours Midday Supervisory Assistant hours equalling 27 hours and 55 minutes in total.

Our preferred working hours are: Mon 8.35-3.15, Tuesday 8.35-3.15, Wed 12:00-3.15, Thursday 8.35-3.15, Fri 8:35-3.15. There is some flexibility around these times and we would be open to discussions.

Contract type: Established

Start Date: January 2025 or before if possible
