What skills and experience we're looking for

About You:

The successful candidate will be able to teach geography across both Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. At Cape Cornwall School, many subjects are overseen and delivered by a single teacher – with the odd lesson being delivered by other colleagues, depending on timetabling requirements. This gives the postholder a real sense of ownership of the subject and its profile within the school. Geography is a popular subject at GCSE level, with outcomes in line with the national picture.

As a Trust we are working on curriculum alignment and shared pedagogical approaches. The successful candidate, as well as teaching geography at Cape, would also be part of the wider Trust Geography network. The benefit of this is that there is a level of autonomy at school level but the strength and support of a wider network.

Geography is a such a vital subject in today’s world. The most important attribute to bring to the role is the ability to bring the subject to life for our students, in both local, regional, national and global contexts.
