What the school offers its staff

As a smaller than average school the Headteachers' vision is to lead the College to be Happy, Healthy and High Performing. He truly believes that we must share similar values and that all schools are not the same. He think in schools it is great to demonstrate humility and be a hardworking team player.

His philosophy on education is very simple. If we can create the right conditions in school to ensure that the teachers and students are happy then the results will follow. We have worked hard spreading the message that wellbeing is vital in education over the last seven years on social media and with the teachers he has worked with.

The Hayling College are actively working on reducing workload by concentrating on effective feedback instead of marking, utilising technology to free up staff time and keeping a close eye on how much effect behaviour has on staff time.

Our priorities for the coming year are to further reduce workload, support staff with the external things that impact their wellbeing. Diversity and inclusion of all is very important and that includes staff, as is meeting the need of all our staffing members.
