The Hayling College is offering an exciting opportunity to join our forward thinking, rapidly improving, award-winning school. We are really proud of our Humanities curriculum and are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, dynamic and highly motivated Teacher of Geography/History to join our dedicated and innovative department, bringing our curriculum to life within the classroom.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both subjects and a commitment to inspiring students to explore and understand the world around them.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that adhere to the curriculum standards for Geography and History.
- Foster a stimulating classroom environment that encourages student participation and critical thinking.
- Use a variety of teaching methods and instructional resources to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.
- Assess and evaluate student performance, providing constructive feedback to support their academic growth.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the educational experience and participate in departmental and school-wide activities.
- Stay current with developments in both Geography and History education, integrating new knowledge into teaching practices.
- Mentor and support students in their academic and personal development.

The Hayling College are actively working on reducing workload by concentrating on effective feedback instead of marking, utilising technology to free up staff time and keeping a close eye on how much effect behaviour has on staff time.
Our priorities for the coming year are to further reduce workload, support staff with the external things that impact their wellbeing. Diversity and inclusion of all is very important and that includes staff, as is meeting the need of all our staffing members.
