St Nicholas Catholic High School are looking to appoint a patient, enthusiastic and hardworking individual who is looking for a challenging but very rewarding role as a Learning Mentor with specific emphasis to bridge the gap often seen by disadvantaged students.

As a Learning Mentor you will be supporting disadvantaged students with a range of academic, behavioural or social issues.

The successful candidate will work with a team of staff that undertakes a wide range of pastoral responsibilities within the school. Working 1 to 1 with students and liaising with outside agencies. Supporting teaching and learning by making referrals and supporting students with barriers to learning.

As the ideal candidate, you will:

Have the ability to engage constructively with, and build working relationships with, a wide range of young people and their families

  • Have the ability to work effectively as part of a team with teaching staff and outside agencies
  • Have the experience of supporting students with mental health, social, academic and behavioural difficulties.
  • Have a willingness to manage their own time effectively, work flexibly and use their own initiative

This is a Permanent, Part Time Contract and is based on 32.5 hours per week over 39 weeks per year. There will be some flexibility with hours worked each day and can be discussed / agreed at interview.

St Nicholas Catholic High School is a mixed catholic secondary school and sixth form for pupils aged 11-18. It is located in Northwich, Cheshire, and caters for approximately 1,250 pupils.
