GRADUATE TUTOR
Redborne Upper School is seeking enthusiastic recently qualified graduates to join our team as Graduate Tutors. This role provides an excellent opportunity to develop highly transferable communication, presentation and mentoring skills.
Full training will be provided: no prior teaching experience is required.
Role Overview
Responsibilities: Provide mentoring and 1:1 / small-group tutoring in English or Maths to disadvantaged students.
Suitability: Applicants with degrees containing significant elements of Maths, Science, English, or Humanities.
Salary: £24,000 fixed term contract, term-time only (pro-rata £17,000).
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 4:15 pm.

We are seeking a flexible, committed and enthusiastic Graduate Tutor to join our thriving school community.
About the Role
This is an exciting and varied role providing tutoring support to disadvantaged students on a one to one or small group basis, under the direction of the line manager at the placement school and in collaboration with subject teachers.
Graduates will provide English and Maths tutoring support for one to one and very small groups of disadvantaged students who have fallen behind in their schooling. We offer full training for the role. This role suits applicants with degrees that have significant elements of either Maths, Science, English or Humanities. However, we consider each application on its own merits. Candidates must be flexible, self-motivated and able to use their own initiative.
The Graduate Tutors will be based in one school in Bedfordshire for the duration of their contract.

Redborne is a successful school on a spacious and pleasant campus near the market town of Ampthill in Bedfordshire. We achieve excellent examination results with about three-quarters of students typically gaining Maths and English at grades 9 – 4. ‘A’ Level results are also very good with over half at ‘A*’, ‘A’ or ‘B’ grades and an overall pass rate of 99.9%. About 80% of the Sixth Form go on to university and each year a number of students get into Oxbridge. The school is well regarded, oversubscribed and situated in a very pleasant area of Central Bedfordshire, within easy reach of London. The campus includes a state-of-the-art 400 seat theatre and Sixth Form social area. In the next few years the school is likely to expand to 1,700 with 500+ in the sixth form.
