GUIDANCE LEADER – CAVENDISH SCHOOL – SECONDARY PHASE

37 hours per week (Monday – Friday)

Term Time only (incl INSET days) plus 1 extra week in the school holidays

Single Status Grade 6 Points 14 - 16

Salary Range: £25,993 - £26,835 pro rata

Actual Pay: £23,031 - £23,777

Start date: 01 September 2025

Closing date: 9am Monday 30 June 2025

We are looking to appoint a Guidance Leader in the Secondary Phase of our All-through school.

The successful candidate will be a highly motivated, committed professional who has a positive attitude to ensure the effectiveness and impact of the Pastoral Team.

Main duties include;

  • attached as a guidance leader for a year group to support the Head of Year
  • assisting the designated safeguarding lead (secondary phase)
  • have the ability to engage and understand of the needs of young people within the school
  • demonstrating excellent communication and negotiation skills required for working with pupils, staff, parents and external agencies.
  • providing excellent team leader skills to manage a team

The ideal candidate will:

  • inspire, challenge and motivate our pupils
  • positive and passionate about ensuring our pupils receive outstanding pastoral care and have a mind-set of believing anything is possible
  • believe in creating strong, positive relationships with our pupils, developing them personally, socially, emotionally and academically.

  • be a team player who is supportive of colleagues
