What skills and experience we're looking for
About you
Our vibrant and friendly day nursery is looking for an enthusiastic and innovative Nursery Practitioner to join our team.
You will be supported by the Manager and Deputy Manager to deliver high standards of care to our children, playing a key role in setting the foundations of their development. You will work closely with our Preschool Teacher and Support Staff to facilitate and lead on a range of activities, plus ensuring children safely play independently to encourage their curiosity.
Our daily routine is balanced between structured activities as well as time for spontaneous activities and play. Establishing is a routine is also a helpful steppingstone to prepare children for when they progress into reception.
Our nursery is open from 7am to 6pm, children are offered breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snacks. We have a rota for early starts and late finishes to allow for flexibility.
Candidates should be positive, energetic, patient and willing to work with children, parents and colleagues.

- To look after children’s health, comfort, safety and happiness while they are in Nursery
- Deliver high-quality early years education and care
- Support children to learn as effectively as possible both in group situations and independently
- Foster a positive, energetic, and patient environment for children, parents, and colleagues
- Promote independent growth and self-paced learning.
- Ensure compliance with EYFS and safeguarding standards
- Put children at the heart of everything they do
To be considered for this role you will need:
- NVQ Level 2 or above in Childcare and Education
- EYFS and Safeguarding knowledge
- Excellent communication skills
- A passionate and positive attitude towards working with children
- Experience of working with babies would be an advantage but is not essential

DFE Early Years Incentive
The aim of this scheme is to support nurseries with recruitment and increase the number of permanent practitioners in the early years workforce. Successful applicants will receive a £1000 payment after they have been in the role for 6 months.
To be eligible for a payment, you must either:
- Not have worked in a nursery before
- Have worked in a nursery before but not in the last 6 months
- Have worked in a nursery in the last 6 months but on a temporary contract
