Head of Art and Technology job summary

Help young people turn ideas into outcomes, and creativity into confidence.

Oasis Academy Hadley is looking for a bold, energetic leader to head up Art & Technology. Someone who can bring a team together, raise the bar on teaching and learning, and make the creative curriculum a genuine “heartbeat” of the school.

We’re an all-through Academy (ages 2-19) with a strong sense of community, high expectations and a culture where staff are supported to grow and thrive.

Why Hadley?

  • All-through, family feel: many students stay with us right through to Sixth Form, so you get to shape culture and outcomes over time.
  • We take development seriously. You’ll have access to strong CPD, Trust-wide networking, and opportunities to progress - with a leadership culture that backs its people.
  • A thriving Sixth Form: each year around 95% of students progress to university, with many going on to Russell Group / top third universities.
  • A modern, purpose-built campus: a vibrant learning environment designed to support a broad curriculum and community life.
  • Technology that supports learning: every student (and staff) are equipped to access enhanced learning through iPads.
  • Easy to get to: the Academy is within a short walk of Ponders End station.

The role

As Head of Art & Technology, you’ll lead the team with clarity and passion - ensuring students experience a creative curriculum that is ambitious, inclusive and brilliantly taught.

You will:

  • Lead, develop and inspire the Art & Technology team, driving strong outcomes and a culture of excellent teaching.
  • Shape and refine the curriculum so it builds skill, confidence and creativity, and meets the needs of all learners.
  • Coach and support colleagues through thoughtful line management, collaboration and day-to-day leadership.
  • Use assessment and data intelligently to keep standards high and close gaps quickly.
  • Contribute to wider Academy life - enrichment matters here, and creative subjects are a big part of what makes school memorable.

Who we’re looking for

You’ll be someone who:

  • Is a strong classroom practitioner with the presence to lead others and the humility to keep learning.
  • Has a track record (or clear potential) to improve outcomes and build consistency across a team.
  • Can combine high expectations with real relational warmth — you’ll win hearts and move results.
  • Brings a “let’s make it happen” mindset, aligned to Oasis values of aspiration, achievement, care and resilience.
