We are looking for a highly committed team player with drive, energy and passion who will inspire a love of learning within their students. A good sense of humour and an excellent work ethic are essential.

You will have the knowledge, skills and experience to lead and deliver the Art curriculum across all key stages, including GCSE and A-Level and a willingness to become very well acquainted with the Deign Technology courses and schemes of work to enable you to support the DT subject lead

About the role

We require, for a September 2025 start, an enthusiastic and highly committed person who will be Head of Art and Design Technology. The ideal candidate will be a Head of Art looking for a larger team to lead or a teacher of art looking for a leadership role.

We are looking to appoint an inspiring leader to continue to drive forward Art and Design Technology at LPA building students’ confidence and self-esteem and delivering outstanding outcomes.

The Head of Art and DT will develop schemes of learning and co-curricular opportunities working closely with the subject lead for DT, staff across the faculty and the SLT link.

Key elements of this post include:

  • Build on the Art/DT curriculum to improve student outcomes and increase enrolment in GCSE courses.
  • Oversight of Art/DT courses, working with the subject lead for DT including coursework, moderation of grades and teacher development.
  • Further develop co-curricular Art with trips and work in relation to careers linked to Art
  • Identify professional development opportunities for team members where appropriate.

Lodge Park Academy is a mixed secondary school situated on the edge of Corby in Northamptonshire, which was officially opened by Formula 1 ace Lewis Hamilton in May 2013. We offer a high quality education for students aged 11 to 19.
