You will join an established and supportive faculty that delivers an outstanding provision, raises the aspirations of all our pupils and supports them to achieve their full potential. The department currently teach Eduqas Art, Craft & Design and Photography. Photography has been recently introduced in 2024. We also offer Eduqas A Level Art & Design. The uptake for these subjects is excellent, with 5 GCSE classes planned in Year 10 (2026-27). The Art departing has been one of the highest-achieving GCSE subject for 13 consecutive years.

Student uptake has grown from 30 to 100 across Art and Photography—an outcome of a well designed curriculum which has been refined and reviewed to ensure it is inspiring, inclusive and responsive to individual needs.

The department place a high value on cultural capital and have organised numerous experiences including artist workshops as well as art trips to Liverpool, Paris, London, Southport and the Conway Centre. They are also involved in whole-school productions, as well as the wider community, collaborating with FOMD on public art projects including a lambanana, painted bins and bottle-top mosaics.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and imaginative individual with a genuine passion for the arts, who is dedicated to nurturing creativity and supporting students in achieving strong outcomes. The ideal candidate will inspire curiosity, encourage experimentation, and create a supportive environment in which students can explore ideas, refine their skills, and develop their own artistic voice.
