Head of Art job summary
As the Head of Art Department, you will lead a team of passionate staff to deliver an outstanding art curriculum and provide exceptional learning experiences for our students. You will oversee the strategic development of the art department, ensuring that it remains at the forefront of art education. You will also play a key role in promoting the arts within the school and wider community through exhibitions, workshops, and other initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, manage, and inspire a team of art teachers to deliver high-quality art education
- Develop and implement a dynamic and innovative art curriculum in line with national standards
- Provide engaging opportunities in Key Stage 4 for learners to complete a variety of artistic qualifications
- Foster a culture of creativity, collaboration, and excellence within the art department
- Provide support and guidance to colleagues to enhance their teaching practice and professional development
- Lead on the organization of art events, exhibitions, and other extracurricular activities
- Collaborate with other departments to develop cross-curricular projects and initiatives
- Build positive relationships with students, parents, and carers, promoting the value of art education
