Head of Biology job summary

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced teacher or aspiring middle leader to shape the curriculum, drive standards, and promote a love of science amongst our students. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring outstanding teaching and learning, fostering curiosity, and maintaining high levels of achievement across all key stages.

About the role:

This is a unique opportunity for either an aspiring Subject Lead in Education or an outstanding practitioner to lead a highly popular subject. There is the opportunity to teach the full age range Year 7 -13 including A level. The appointed Head of Biology will be driven, motivated and most of all passionate about their subject with a focus on improving pupil progress.

We are looking for someone who:

Is an outstanding classroom practitioner with strong subject knowledge in Biology

Has leadership experience or the ambition to take on a leadership role

Is committed to achieving the best outcomes for all students

Has high expectations of behaviour, achievement, and engagement

Is an excellent communicator and team player

Will actively support the Catholic ethos of the college (applications welcome from all faiths and none)
