What skills and experience we're looking for
Drapers’ Academy seeks to appoint a dynamic and enthusiastic Head of Biology to join our supportive science faculty. This is a role for a teacher wishing to take the next step in their career or an experienced teacher/Head of Department, who can lead a team of committed teachers, as well as inspiring the next generation of science teachers. Leadership experience is not essential, but applicants must be able to demonstrate the skills required to lead a department. This is an exciting opportunity to lead the development of biology through all Key Stages at the Academy. Biology is one of the most popular subjects at A Level, with many students continuing to study it at University.
The successful candidate will:
- Have a track record of excellent teaching and learning.
- Have in depth subject knowledge.
- Be inspiring, dynamic and passionate about teaching.
- Identify and promote extracurricular opportunities for all students.
- Promote the ethos and values of respect, kindness and purposefulness in the school.
- Have the right to work in the UK.
