Head of Biology TLR2B (Maternity Cover) job summary
We are looking to appoint an inspirational Head of Biology to join Arnold Hill Spencer Academy on a maternity cover basis. This is an excellent opportunity to lead a high‑performing, well‑resourced department within a school where academic ambition, curiosity, and a love of learning are actively encouraged and celebrated.
You will become part of a forward‑thinking, dynamic Science team, known for being warm, supportive, and committed to high expectations for both staff and students. As Head of Biology, you will play a key role in inspiring students across the academy to strive for personal and academic excellence, developing the skills, confidence, and resilience needed to become passionate lifelong learners who aim to exceed their potential.
The successful candidate will join our thriving Science Faculty, which places a strong emphasis on innovation and sharing outstanding practice. We are seeking a teacher with a genuine passion for Science and Biology, capable of engaging and motivating students of all abilities. You will be required to teach across KS3 to KS5.
