If so, we want to hear from you! Our students are amazing. They are intelligent, articulate, funny, welcoming and appreciative of great teaching. They deserve the best and we intend to make sure that this is what they receive, in every subject, every day of their school lives. Our staff are phenomenal. They are dedicated, passionate, dynamic, caring and inspiring. We strongly feel we have a world class team and we firmly believe that in every department we have strong teams that are capable of creating the truly great school that this community deserves. Our facilities are outstanding. With a £10+ million investment, our school boasts state-of-the-art classrooms, fantastic IT facilities, our own on-site Alternative Provision (Headway), and an unrivalled on-site Sports Village which includes a full-size 3G football pitch, a skate park and a dance studio. This will be further enhanced by September 2022, with the addition of another six-classroom building block. Together, this makes Baysgarth one of the top performing schools in the Humber region, with six consecutive years of record breaking, outstanding results. Our high-ability students make more progress than in any other local school and our inclusive, wraparound care for every single student and strong community approach ensures that every child is valued and encouraged to reach their potential. We are currently looking for a dynamic, passionate, dedicated and highly motivated Head of Business & IT with the skills and experience to deliver successful outcomes at KS3 and KS4. The successful candidate will be joining a department of experienced staff including senior leaders. Business is one of the top performing subjects across the entire school in terms of outcomes and is consistently selected as the most popular KS4 option choice by students. I.T. is delivered to all students at KS3 and is a relatively new KS4 option, but has already established itself as one of the most popular subjects over the past two years. We are oversubscribed in almost every single year group, which reflects the first-class facilities we have on site as well as our fantastic students and staff who make the school a great place to learn. We pride ourselves on achieving outstanding outcomes in a school with an inclusive ethos that has superb pastoral care and a strong commitment to staff mental health and work-life balance. Ofsted visited Baysgarth in October 2017 and concluded that we are a Good school which ‘has gone from strength to strength’ and is making ‘good progress on the journey to outstanding’. In terms of student achievement, Ofsted reported that ‘Overall progress was in the top 10% nationally … [and] current pupils are making strong progress in all year groups.’ The DfE have concluded that ‘there is no better performing similar school within 75 miles of Baysgarth’ and it is our mission to recruit the most talented staff to continue this progress. Baysgarth School is an 11-16 comprehensive with approximately 930 pupils on roll; a number that will rise to over 1,000 in the next few years. The successful candidate will be expected to have pride, passion, positivity and vision and a desire to ensure the school has the highest possible reputation in the local community and beyond. Baysgarth School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful applicant will be required to apply for enhanced disclosure from the DBS. If you are inspired by the challenge and responsibility of this opportunity, we would like to hear from you. Further details and an application form can be downloaded from the school’s website. Do you have what it takes to work one of the top 5% of schools nationally?
If so, we want to hear from you!

Our students are amazing. They are intelligent, articulate, funny, welcoming and appreciative of great teaching. They deserve the best and we intend to make sure that this is what they receive, in every subject, every day of their school lives.

Our staff are phenomenal. They are dedicated, passionate, dynamic, caring and inspiring. We strongly feel we have a world class team and we firmly believe that in every department we have strong teams that are capable of creating the truly great school that this community deserves.

Our facilities are outstanding. With over a £10 million of investment, our school boasts state-of-the-art classrooms, fantastic IT facilities, an unrivalled on-site Sports Village which includes a full-size 3G football pitch, a skate park and a dance studio, along with a partnered Alternative Provision. This was further enhanced by a brand-new six classroom block which opened in summer 2022.

Together, this makes Baysgarth one of the top performing schools in the Humber region, with eight consecutive years of record breaking, outstanding results. Our high-ability students make more progress than in any other local school and our inclusive wraparound care for every single student nurtures them to believe in themselves and their potential and reach their ambitions, now and in the future.

To build on this, we are currently looking for a highly motivated, creative and committed Teacher of History with the skills and experience to offer outstanding experiences for students in both KS3 and KS4. The Humanities team is vibrant and dynamic, offering amazing experiences inside and outside the classroom. The suitable candidate will share this passion and drive, and have the ambition to elevate History to be the most successful subject in the school.

Baysgarth continues to be a Good school that is ‘making good progress on the journey to outstanding’ according to Ofsted, who visited most recently in January 2023. Inspectors described the school to “have created an inclusive community” where “pupils are well cared for”, “have access to a wide range of enrichment opportunities”, “benefit from high-quality teaching”, along with having access to “a range of experiences that go beyond the national curriculum…experiences that they may not otherwise have had”. Leadership and governance is strong, with “a clear vision” and “high expectations”. Baysgarth is consistently one of the top performing schools in the Humber region and it is our mission to recruit the most talented staff to cement our excellent reputation.

Baysgarth School is an 11-16 comprehensive with approximately 970 pupils on roll; a number that will rise to well over 1,000 in the next few years. The successful candidate will be expected to have pride, passion, positivity and vision and a desire to ensure the school has the highest possible reputation in the local community and beyond.
