Purpose of the Job
We are seeking an ambitious, passionate and imaginative business teacher to join and complement the
friendly, supportive and dedicated professionals across the school, to head the teaching of Business in the school.
The successful candidate will need to provide our students with an outstanding education in Business in our high performing department.
Responsibilities, but not limited to:
· To meet all requirements of the Teachers’ Standards.
· Within the designated curriculum area, to implement, deliver and contribute to the published scheme of work.
· To shape the learning experience to motivate and encourage students to achieve their full potential.
· To monitor the progress of students and provide support to ensure personal and academic growth.
Teaching and Learning Responsibilities
· To deliver the designated programme of teaching as presented in the published scheme of work.
· To use a variety of delivery methods to stimulate learning, appropriate to student abilities.
· To prepare and update subject materials.
· To ensure a high-quality learning experience for students that meets internal and external quality standards.
· Within the guidance presented in the school Assessment Policy and using appropriate I.T. systems, to assess, record and report on the attendance, progress, development and attainment of students.
· To take part in Parent/Carer Information Evenings.
Teaching and Learning - Teaching assistants are expected to:
• Demonstrate an informed and efficient approach to teaching and learning by adopting
relevant strategies to support the work of the teacher and increase achievement of all pupils
including, where appropriate, those with special educational needs and disabilities.
• Promote, support and facilitate inclusion by encouraging participation of all pupils in
learning and extracurricular activities.
• Use effective behaviour management strategies consistently in line with the school’s policy
and procedures.
• Contribute to effective assessment and planning by supporting the monitoring, recording
and reporting of pupil progress as appropriate to the level of the role.
