Business Studies is a popular and thriving subject at Barclay Academy. We are proud of the broad and ambitious curriculum we offer at KS3, and we are passionate about providing high‑quality Business Studies pathways at KS4 and KS5.
The Head of Business Studies will play a key role in shaping the strategic direction of the department. They will lead the development of an engaging and knowledge‑rich curriculum, ensuring that teaching is consistently high‑quality and aligned with whole‑school priorities. In addition, they will support the professional growth of colleagues through effective coaching, modelling, and curriculum leadership, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement. Head of Business Studies is responsible for the standards and day-to-day management of the department. They will be accountable for monitoring the academic progress of all pupils taught within the department, encouraging high aspirations and achievement and oversee the embedding of literacy within their department.

Barclay Academy sits in the beautiful Historic Old Town in Stevenage. We have strong transport links in the town including a 20 minute commute into London.
