Wilmington Grammar School for Girls was founded in 1958, our school has been helping girls to secure outstanding academic results and providing a well-rounded experience for over half a century. We are seeking to appoint an outstanding Chemistry teacher to lead our Chemistry provision. Our Science Department thrives on the notions of inclusion, creativity and enthusiasm for the subject. We deliver a broad curriculum building science skills through the teaching. The Science team is led by a Head of Science and each curriculum area has its own subject specialist lead, as such the post holder will receive support from a highly experienced subject leader, whilst having the autonomy to continue to develop and expand the Chemistry provision in the school.
Our ideal candidate will display:
A passion for teaching Chemistry with evidence of enabling students to surpass expectations.
- Experience in teaching classroom Chemistry at all Key Stages with a good curriculum knowledge and understanding of GCSE and A-Level Physics requirements.
- Experience of using data to push students to (and beyond) their targets.
- Experience of managing a team with a range of experiences and expertise.
