Head of Computer Science job summary
The Dean Trust is seeking to appoint a talented and enthusiastic Head of Computer Science, to join our dedicated team at Abraham Moss Community School, Crescent Road, Crumpsall, Manchester, M8 5UF.
The core purpose of the role
This is a significant leadership role within the curriculum. The post holder will have full responsibility for the outcomes within Computing in terms of examination results. They will be responsible for ensuring all pupils have access to a Computing curriculum that is: broad and ambitious; designed to provide pupils with access to powerful knowledge and cultural capital; coherently planned; sequenced towards cumulatively sufficient knowledge for future learning and employment.
Key responsibilities:
- To understand, advance and act in accordance with the school’s vision, values and core purpose.
- To articulate the school’s core purpose, vision and values and ensure that they are understood, shared and acted upon by all Computing teachers.
- Contribute to achieving the school’s vision by providing effective leadership of the Computing faculty.
- Promote positive and respectful relationships across the school community.
- Contribute to establishing and maintaining a safe and calm environment by sustaining high expectations and standards of behaviour for all pupils.
