Head of Computing job summary

Provide vision, leadership and day-to-day operational management of colleagues within the Computing department. Secure high-quality teaching and effective use of resources to achieve the highest standards of achievement for all pupils.

An 11 – 19 secondary school which opened in September 2018, was established by Derby Diocesan Academy Trust (DDAT) and Derby Cathedral to help meet the need for additional high-quality secondary places in the Derby area. The school has had a successful start and is currently over-subscribed for every year group. There are currently three cohorts of students in school with a further cohort due to join in September 2021, and every subsequent year until full. We will be opening a sixth form provision in September 2023.

Derby Cathedral School is the first ever Church of England Secondary school in the Diocese. Currently under construction, we will be moving to our new state-of-the-art building in September 2021. This is located close to the city centre and regular updates showing the construction progress can be seen on our website.
