What skills and experience we're looking for

Northern Education Trust (NET) is a charitable education Trust with a good track record for school improvement. The Trust sponsors 30 academies; 17 secondary and 13 primaries across the North of England in fourteen Local Authority regions.

Red House Academy is seeking to appoint an experienced, knowledgable and passionate Head of Mathematics to join the team in September 2025.

As Head of Department, you will be responsible for the quality of teaching and learning in the department, overall student outcomes in the department in partnership with the teachers concerned, and evaluation of relevant assessment information for individuals, groups and cohorts. You will also lead, develop and help to enhance the teaching practice of others within the Maths Department. You will have line management responsibility of the department, be responsible for the monitoring of effectiveness and impact of performance management arrangements within the department. You will also work closely with Directors and Senior Directors within the Trust.
