The Norton Knatchbull School is a selective grammar school with a proud history dating back to 1630. Our Drama Department has a strong reputation for excellence, inspiring creativity and confidence in students from Year 7 through to A Level.
We are seeking an exceptional Head of Drama to lead our small but thriving department. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and passionate practitioner to help shape the future of Drama at NKS.
You will be responsible for:
- Leading and developing the Drama curriculum across all key stages, including the development of an attractive A Level offer.
- Inspiring students through engaging lessons that explore what it means to be human through the dramatic form.
- Driving high standards of teaching and learning, ensuring progress and achievement for all.
- Overseeing extracurricular provision, including school productions and enrichment activities.
- Managing departmental resources and supporting staff development.
What we are looking for:
- A dynamic and innovative leader with a proven track record in Drama education.
- Ability to teach up to A Level and deliver outstanding outcomes.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- A commitment to fostering creativity, confidence, and cultural awareness in students.
- Technical knowledge of lighting and sound equipment would be an advantage.
