Mossley Hollins High School is seeking to appoint an outstanding Head of Faculty for English. This is a key leadership role in a highly ambitious, oversubscribed school with a strong reputation for academic excellence, staff development and wellbeing.

As Head of Faculty, you will lead a dedicated and talented English team, taking responsibility for pupil outcomes, curriculum quality, and excellence in teaching and learning. You will be an active, visible presence in the department, setting high standards and ensuring that all pupils are challenged and supported to achieve their best.

We are looking for a consistently strong classroom practitioner with a track record of securing high standards of progress and attainment. You will be an enthusiastic and credible leader who is able to inspire colleagues, drive improvement, and contribute positively to the wider life of the school.

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • A passion for English and the ability to engage, challenge, and motivate students across KS3 and KS4.
  • Proven success in driving strong progress and attainment in English.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire, develop colleagues, and secure sustained improvement across the faculty.
  • A commitment to professional development and reflective practice.
  • Alignment with the school’s values of Manners, Hard Work, and Honesty.
