Head of Faculty - Health & Social Sciences job summary

We are seeking an outstanding and inspirational leader to take on the role of Head of Faculty - Health & Social Sciences. We require a dynamic and passionate leader to drive the development and success of our Social Sciences Faculty. You should have curriculum leadership experience and a deep understanding of the Health & Social Sciences curriculum with a passion for driving academic success and engagement in these subjects. Key responsibilities include:

Leadership and Strategy: Lead the Health & Social Sciences Faculty, ensuring the development of high-quality teaching and learning in subjects such as Sociology, Psychology, Criminology, Law and Health and Social Care with the ability and experience to teach at least one of the subjects at key stage 5.

Curriculum Design and Development: Develop, implement, and continuously review the curriculum to ensure it meets the needs of all students.

Faculty Management: Manage and support a team of dedicated teachers, fostering a collaborative, innovative, and supportive work environment, this includes providing guidance and planning for the professional development of your team.

Student Progress: Monitor and track the academic progress of students within the faculty through effective assessment, data analysis, implementing interventions and strategies to raise progress and ensure all students reach their potential.

Communication: Provide clear and relevant communication to all stakeholders, including parents and carers, to ensure all students are fully supported and are given every opportunity to make exceptional progress.
