What skills and experience we're looking for

  • Knowledge and understanding of current pedagogical practice.

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

  • Awareness of educational developments in the subject area.

  • Experience of leading and managing at departmental/faculty level.

  • Excellent manager of student behaviour.
  • Involvement in School/Academy Improvement Planning Process.

  • NPQH / NPQSL (or working towards).

  • Committed to raising standards of teaching, learning and student attainment.

  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to build positive working relationships.
  • Ability to inspire high levels of performance in all students regardless of their starting points.
  • Evidence of involvement in CPD activities and committed to CPD of others.

  • Innovative, strategic and visionary.

  • Monitor student standards and achievement against annual targets.

  • Monitor and evaluate standards of teaching, identifying areas for improvement.
