The Role
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Head of Finance to lead all aspects of financial management at Westminster City School. This is a key senior role, working closely with the Headteacher, Governors and Foundation colleagues to ensure robust financial planning, strong controls and long-term sustainability.
The post holder will play a central role in supporting the school’s journey from a deficit position to long-term financial stability, helping to build reserves and ensure best value in all financial decisions.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled school finance professional who is looking to make a tangible impact at both strategic and operational levels.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for a candidate who brings both technical expertise and strong interpersonal skills.
Essential:
- Significant experience working in a school or academy finance function
- Strong knowledge of DfE finance requirements, academies funding and compliance
- Proven experience of budget planning, monitoring and financial reporting
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting equality, diversity and inclusion
- Recognised finance qualification or qualified accountant status
- Willingness to support the Christian ethos of the school
