Sir John Leman Sixth Form is seeking a talented and enthusiastic Head of Football to establish a Post-16 Football Academy and Education Programme. This post is initially being recruited on a fixed term basis (to 31 August 2026).
The successful candidate will:
- Lead and develop a high-performing football academy, ages 16-18 boys and girls
- Plan, deliver, and innovate coaching sessions that challenge and inspire
- Preferably proven strategic experience in developing and implementing football programmes.
- Have the ability to design and implement long-term football development plans that enhance player performance, progression, and support future pathways
- Demonstrate exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to engage with students, staff, and external stakeholders
- Ideally a track record in building and maintaining partnerships with community stakeholders/clubs
- Preferably have previous football programme employment or experience in overseeing sport projects.
- Drive the football academy’s growth and reputation within the local community and beyond.

Sir John Leman High School, situated in the historic market town of Beccles, Suffolk, on the edge of the Norfolk Broads, is a mixed comprehensive secondary school and sixth form. The pupil roll is around 1,400, with some 160 of these students moving on to the school’s sixth form.
