Head of Geography job summary

We are looking to appoint a Head of Department who will be the lead explorer of our curriculum. We are looking for a visionary leader who views Geography as a lens through which students understand their impact on the planet. They will have the opportunity to refine and design a contemporary curriculum that bridges the gap between the classroom and the real world, empowering your team to deliver lessons that are engaging, challenging and memorable including fieldwork opportunities, in order to instil a love of lifelong learning.

The successful candidate will be experienced teacher who has led a department or has had relevant post holder responsibilities and is ready for promotion. They will have a proven track record of understanding and implementing pedagogical best practices to enable excellent student outcomes. The school is looking for a passionate and innovative practitioner who can create a supportive, encouraging and safe learning environment for all pupils of diverse backgrounds and abilities.

Experience of teaching BTEC Public Services, Uniformed Protective Services or Travel and Tourism desirable but not essential.
