Head of Geography job summary

This Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and requires all staff to share this commitment.

We are seeking to appoint a Head of Geography who must be an enthusiastic and inspirational classroom practitioner to join a strong, dynamic and forward-thinking team.

The successful candidate will oversee curriculum planning, assessment, and the development of high-quality teaching across Key Stages 3 and 4. You will be responsible for mentoring and supporting colleagues, analysing performance data to inform improvement strategies, and contributing to the wider school leadership. A commitment to fostering a positive learning environment and promoting a love of Geography is essential.

The successful candidate will have:

  • An excellent record of raising attainment and examination results at Key Stage 4 and 5;
  • A track record of outstanding teaching across Key Stages 3 to 5;
  • Proven ability and enthusiasm to motivate students and staff;
  • The ability to raise the expectations and aspirations of students of all abilities;
  • A desire to share experiences and good practice with colleagues
