What skills and experience we're looking for
We are seeking to appoint a high-calibre Head of Health and Social Care at The Frances Bardsley Academy for Girls to join a talented and supportive Social Science team. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead a highly successful subject area which is valued by students. The successful candidate will:
- Lead on curriculum development in Health & Social Care and plan creatively for high-quality teaching, learning and assessment.
- Be accountable for the highest standards of student achievement through the monitoring and evaluation of student achievement and setting targets for improvement.
- Share our commitment to building great learning communities for our students.
- Inspire young women with a passion for Health & Social Care
- Plan creatively for high-quality teaching, learning and assessment.
- Deliver highly effective and engaging lessons with the aspiration of raising the academic progression of our students.
- Be motivated to challenge, support and develop other colleagues.
- Work collaboratively across the school
- Have a QTS qualification
The successful candidate will become part of an oversubscribed, flourishing school for girls aged 11 to 18, with confident, courteous, articulate students and an ethos of empowerment. The Frances Bardsley Academy for Girls is a non-denominational academy secondary school and sixth form for girls aged between 11 and 18. It is located in Romford in the borough of Havering, London. The number of pupils is approximately 1,300.
The school was established in 1906 by Frances Bardsley with the aim of providing free education to the local girls. Formerly across two different sites until 2003, it became The Frances Bardsley School for Girls in 1972 and converted to academy status in 2012.
