MARK Education Trust is seeking to appoint an experienced, strategic and forward‑thinking Head of HR with a strong track record of delivering organisation‑wide impact, driving workforce efficiencies, and leading successful organisational change. This is a key trust-wide leadership role, shaping and steering our people strategy across all schools and central functions.
Working closely with the Executive Headteacher and Chief Executive Officer, Chief Finance Officer, the trust Executive Team and our Headteachers, you will lead a proactive, professional and highly efficient HR service aligned to our mission, vision and values. You will ensure the trust's HR strategy supports long‑term sustainability, delivers value for money, and strengthens our culture of high performance and staff wellbeing.
This post holds trust-wide responsibility for:
Leading and shaping strategic HR initiatives that deliver organisational improvement and people‑centred efficiencies
Driving workforce planning, organisational change programmes and staffing structures to support financial and operational sustainability
Providing expert advice to senior leaders on all aspects of people management, change processes and employee relations
Managing complex employee relations casework and ensuring legal, statutory and safeguarding compliance
Developing, reviewing and implementing HR policies that support consistency, fairness and continuous improvement
Strengthening leadership capability across the trust by embedding high‑quality, consistent HR practice
Overseeing recruitment and retention strategies that ensure the trust secures and develops the best staff
