Outwood Academy Kirkby seeks a highly effective and strategic leader to assume the critical role of Head of Humanities.This post requires an experienced, dynamic professionalideally a Geography specialist,dedicated to ensuring exceptional educational outcomes across History and Geography. The successful candidate will be responsible for the development, implementation, and rigorous assessment of a high-quality curriculum, driving continuous improvement in teaching standards and student attainment. With the support of Trust leads you will lead and manage a dedicated team, fostering an environment of academic excellence and professional development.We place students at the centre of everything we do, with a focus on creating a culture of success, a positive climate for learning, and increased student attainment, achievement and social and emotional development.As such we are keen to recruit dedicated and ambitious individuals who will add value to our Academy in both academic terms and through involvement in the fabric of learning and success beyond the classroom.

We are a 11-16 academy based in the market town of Kirkby-in-Ashfield, on the eastern edge of the Erewash Valley which separates Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire. We became part of the Outwood Family of Schools in 2022 and are yet to be inspected by Ofsted.

We are a welcoming and supportive academy, with a relentless determination to provide the very best education for every child. We place students at the centre of everything we do, with a focus on creating a culture of success and a positive climate for learning.
