The Role
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to take on the pivotal role of Head of Inclusion - SENDCO at Levenshulme High School. Reporting directly to the Deputy Headteacher for student wellbeing, you will lead the strategic development and day-to-day operation of our SEND provision, ensuring high standards of achievement and progress for all learners with additional needs. This essential role offers the opportunity to shape inclusive practices across the school, manage a dedicated team including the EAL and Intervention Coordinators, and contribute meaningfully to whole-school planning and development.
You will be responsible for coordinating annual reviews, liaising with external agencies, and supporting staff in delivering effective teaching strategies for SEND pupils. With oversight of data analysis, faculty performance, and staff development, this role demands a proactive leader who can drive continuous improvement and foster a culture of high expectations and support.
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate will be a qualified and experienced SEND professional with a thorough understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and a strong track record of leading teams to achieve measurable impact. You will be an excellent communicator, highly organised, and capable of building strong relationships with students, staff, parents, and external partners. Your ability to mentor, coach, and challenge colleagues will be key to raising performance and embedding inclusive practices across the school.
We are looking for someone with energy, resilience, and a commitment to both personal and professional development. A higher qualification such as the National Award for SEND Coordination is essential,and experience in middle or senior leadership is highly desirable.
