We believe that every student should have the opportunity to communicate confidently in another language and to develop the skills that prepare them for life in a diverse and interconnected world.
In addition to leading our thriving MFL department, the successful candidate will oversee provision for our EAL students and line manage our EAL Coordinator. With over 30% of our students identified as EAL, this is a central and highly valued aspect of our school. We are proud of our diversity and inclusion, and we are ambitious to become the school of choice for the EAL community in the area. We actively encourage colleagues to take on extra responsibilities, contribute to whole-school initiatives, and step into wider leadership positions as part of their career development. You will be joining a school where ambition is matched by support, and where your impact can extend well beyond the classroom.
You will:

demonstrate the ability to consistently deliver inspirational learning experiences for students
have an understanding of how to promote effective and inclusive teaching and learning
be able to evidence success in raising student achievement across a broad range of abilities through successful assessment, monitoring and evaluation of student progress, and the range of strategies that could be used to address underachievement
possess good communication skills with students, colleagues and parents
demonstrate a strong desire to undertake Continuing Professional Development to inform teaching
We would welcome an application from you if you feel that you are the dynamic and passionate teacher we’re looking for. School tours or telephone conversations with the Headteacher are welcomed on request.
