Head of Languages required for January 2024 job summary
One
of the country’s leading academic schools, Queen Elizabeth’s Barnet blends a
distinctive heritage and proud traditions with an innovative, forward-looking
approach to providing a state education like no other to 1,300 boys aged 11-18.
This is an exciting and rarely
available opportunity for an exceptional teacher of Languages to lead a large
department that delivers a core curriculum of French, German and Latin. All
boys study at least one modern foreign language to GCSE level and the post
holder is responsible for an extensive co-curricular programme including
foreign exchanges, trips and after-school lessons in other languages, such as Spanish,
taught by peripatetic teachers.
This role would be ideally
suited to someone who is ambitious, looking to develop his or her career and is
ultimately aspiring to senior leadership. In making this appointment,
therefore, the Headmaster will have regard to the potential exhibited by
candidates as well as to their experience. A comprehensive programme of support
and training will be made available to the successful applicant.
Closing date: 9am on Friday
14 July 2023. Applications will be considered as they are received.
