What skills and experience we're looking for

Required for September 2025, an outstanding practitioner, to lead the development of Mathematics and computing faculty. You must be able to enthuse, engage, motivate and inspire both students and staff, through your passion for your subject, creative teaching, presence and personality.

As Head of Faculty you will be responsible for the management and strategic development of the Faculty, contributing towards improving standards of student achievement, and development of the teaching practice within the faculty. Working as a member of our Middle Leadership team there will be scope to make a significant contribution to the direction of the whole school in addition to raising standards in the Maths and computing Faculty.

Humphry Davy School is situated in beautiful West Cornwall and is committed to ensuring the highest quality of education for all our students. Ofsted (Short Inspection November 2016) judged the school as ‘good’ and stated, “Across the school we found that pupils were very keen to learn. Pupils we spoke with enjoy coming to school and feel that they are making good progress. Pupils are well-mannered and keen to tell visitors how good the school is and how it keeps them safe”. A more recent visit in July 2022 by the LA education effectiveness team highlighted how staff create a positive atmosphere and inclusive ethos, leading to all students having a sense of belonging to the Humphry Davy Community.
