Ixworth High School is a small high school set in the picturesque Suffolk countryside. We are generally over-subscribed and will have around 550 pupils in the school by September 2026. 

The school's vision is to provide an education system that truly serves those it educates by always reflecting on and addressing individual needs, strengths, and interests. There is a Specialist Unit on site for around 20 pupils, supporting pupils with Communication & Interaction needs, these students are fully integrated into the main school. 

The school showed much improved results in 2025 and was among the top twenty most improved schools in England for attainment and English. 

THE ROLE 

  • We are looking for someone with either proven leadership responsibilities, or the potential to lead a successful faculty. They will have a passion for mathematics and a clear understanding of how students learn best, with the ability to lead, communicate and implement those strategies across the faculty. 
  • Candidates may be early in their careers but the post is not suitable for ECTs. Teachers with experience as a second or deputy head of mathematics, or late entry teachers with leadership experience in other industries, are encouraged to apply. 
  • The post is full time and paid on the leadership scale (L1 - L5), the post holder is considered part of the extended leadership team.
