What skills and experience we're looking for
The successful candidate will:
- Have experience teaching across Key Stage 3 and 4
- Be a consistently good/outstanding teacher
- Be an exceptional classroom practitioner with high expectations of both learning and behaviour
- Able to inspire, motivate and enthuse pupils
- Be committed to raising standards for all and share the same drive to constantly learn and improve
- Show willingness to lead initiatives and show evidence of impact
- Demonstrate a passion to make a difference to others
- Be proficient with the use of technology for learning and have a willingness to innovate
- Have experience of mentoring ITTs and/or ECTs
Key Responsibilities:
- Be accountable for the learning and achievement of all students following mathematics programmes within the academy
- Provide high quality leadership and management for mathematics education within the academy
- Develop effective working partnerships with other staff to secure high levels of student progress
- Liaise with all relevant stakeholders across the Trust to support strategic development, share good practice and plan collaborative activities
- Have oversight, planning and delivery of induction programme for all new staff including non-teaching staff
- Act as the lead within the academy for the ITT and ECT programmes, working in collaboration with other stakeholders within the Trust and external providers
- Contribute to wider whole school policy making as appropriate
- Safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people and follow school and Trust policies including the staff code of conduct.
