What skills and experience we're looking for
The Priory Lincoln Academy are looking to appoint an ambitious and dynamic Head of Mathematics to play a leading role in our journey to become an inspirational learning community. The successful candidate will need to be an excellent teacher of maths, an expert within their subject and be able to lead and motivate a team of mathematicians. The successful candidate will lead and develop outstanding practice, think strategically to optimise outcomes and spark student’s curiosity in their study of maths.
The academy has excellent facilities and well resourced classrooms. You will join a thriving, cohesive maths team who have a passion for teaching and learning and offer an inspiring curriculum supported by a range of enrichment opportunities. The academy has a thriving Axiom Maths project which will next academic year expand into Years 7, 8 and 9. Our students compete in UKMT challenges and we celebrate the growth of the whole child and not just the academic performance of our students. Our students have pathways to continue the study of maths in the Priory Sixth Form, including the study of maths as part of our T-Level offer. The successful candidate will build strong relationships with our learners and will demonstrate the dedication and motivation to ensure they thrive, make excellent progress and become confident mathematicians.
The candidate we are looking for will inspire those around them and have the vision to work with other Heads of Maths in the Trust to develop a world class curriculum and an outstanding experience for our students. They will be visible and have a collaborative approach to leadership. Strong interpersonal, organisational and decision-making skills are vital for this role, as is a commitment to demonstrating our Trust Values of courage, passion, curiosity, generosity and wisdom.
