St Joseph’s Catholic School is seeking an exceptional Head of Maths to join our committed team and shape the future of mathematics education for our pupils. This is a unique opportunity to lead a committed department in a school renowned for its inclusive ethos, strong pastoral care and focus on academic achievement.

Main responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a high-performing Maths department, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.
  • Drive curriculum development that promotes fluency, reasoning, and problem-solving across Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Inspire and support teachers through coaching, appraisal, and professional development.
  • Monitor and evaluate teaching and learning to ensure outstanding pupil progress.
  • Champion high standards of behaviour, inclusion, and achievement.
  • Analyse data to inform strategic decisions and interventions.
  • Represent the department at senior leadership level and contribute to whole-school development.
