Head of MFL - French (to KS5) and Spanish (to KS3/4)
Be part of a growing team of passionate linguists who share their enthusiasm with pupils and staff within a global and multilingual environment!
You will lead a vibrant and well-resourced MFL department with supportive SLT in a National Centre for Excellence for Language Pedgagogy Hub School.
We are seeking to appoint an experienced teacher to lead our MFL department while our Head of Department is on maternity leave. You will be able to teach French to KS5, as well as Spanish to KS3 or KS4. The department is committed to raising attainment; you will have the ability to motivate our students to succeed and develop their love of languages through engaging lessons.
We run trips and clubs to strengthen pupils’ love and understanding of languages and allowing them new experiences. These have included a French Escape Room, Spanish Restaurant, Mandarin Club, plus a day trip to Boulogne sur Mer. We are always open to new ideas!
You will join a department that produces improving outcomes in a heavily oversubscribed academy. The department is staffed with experienced teachers and NQTs with a shared vision and commitment to continuous school improvement.
There are approximately 1000 students on roll, which includes the Sixth Form. A new building programme, just completed, comprises a brand new Sixth Form Centre, sports facilities including a gym and a new restaurant and coffee shop for both students and staff. We also have a thriving House system that brings our whole school community together and the possibility of shared living accommodation.
Our aim is to establish a culture of excellence throughout every element of our academy and move us from Good to Outstanding.
