Leadership Opportunity

We are currently looking for a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our teaching team as a Head of Modern Foreign languages, with a specialism in French/Spanish. You will be teaching across both KS3 and KS4.

This is a leadership opportunity for an experienced teacher who has QTS, and seeking the next step in their career, transitioning into middle leadership. If you have a passion for both teaching and leadership, with a demonstrated ability to inspire and motivate both students and colleagues, we would like to hear from you!

Aylward Academy is a community where inspirational teaching, self-evaluation and self-improvement are evident from the moment you enter our Academy. Our students are diverse, exciting and talented - and the same is true of our staff. We put huge emphasis on professional development, most of it in-house, and are proud of the high number of good and outstanding teachers who work in our school. We are also noted for our 'can do' attitude. We are proud to serve the communities around Enfield as an 11-18 school and we were judged as a 'Good academy' by Ofsted in July 2021.

At Aylward, we place strong emphasis on professional development and believe a culture of shared leadership teamed with an unwavering passion for teaching and learning are at the heart of what we do.

Aylward Academy is most definitely a school on the rise. GCSE outcomes are up, attendance to school is up, student adherence to the school ethos is positive and this is in a context where exclusions from school are minimal. Our community is one where we strongly believe that education is about attaining good qualifications as well as developing young people into active and positive contributors to society. We welcome professionals that are passionate in guiding young people in these crucial years of their development.

The role is due to commence September 2024.
