What skills and experience we're looking for
We are looking to appoint a creative, enthusiastic and inspiring Head of Music to lead this important area of our curriculum from September. This is a unique opportunity to develop, evolve and expand the current Music Department as it moves into a new building with a dedicated Music area including 2 teaching rooms, 1 ensemble room and 7 practice rooms. The successful candidate will have a strong vision on how to develop both the Music curriculum and the extra curricular opportunities that this post presents.

a passion for teaching Music
commitment to promoting high quality teaching and learning within this department
experience of running multiple extra curricular opportunities for a range of musical genres
ability to promote Music across the curriculum
What the school offers its staff
Maidstone Grammar School for Girls is a very successful selective girls’ school of 1240 students with a mixed sixth form of approximately 340. MGGS has been appointed by the Department for Education as a Regional Computer Hub in recognition of the expertise the school has evidenced in Computing Education and will take a lead in training teachers across the south east in the delivery of Computing. The post offers the opportunity to work with intellectually able young people in a supportive and friendly environment.
