Head of PE job summary

This is an exciting time to join Aureus School as we grow into our fifth year. The Head of PE will be responsible for the strategic lead and management of a small, but growing team of experienced and dedicated teachers. This is a rare leadership opportunity to provide clear, effective guidance to colleagues, developing their teaching practice and maximise standards of student attainment. The Head of PE will be responsible for the PE curriculum and the co-curricular programme of afternoon fixtures/ training. An inspiring leader, technically knowledgeable with a passion for promoting and delivering the school-wide participation in sport that is a hallmark of an excellent PE Department. In this crucial role, the Head of PE will lead a team of PE teachers and promote active involvement from the School’s classroom teaching staff in sports activities and events. Strong communication skills will be essential as the post-holder seeks to develop the interest and involvement of students, parents and colleagues in the ever-evolving sporting culture of this new school. This is an excellent career opportunity to provide clear, effective guidance to colleagues, developing teaching best practice and maximising standards of student attainment.
