What skills and experience we're looking for
We are looking for a Head of PE to lead our experience, friendly team. The PE department have strived towards offering a wide range of sports and we are looking for a Head of PE to continue to develop this and build on recent improvements.
Our department, which consists of dedicated, lively and innovative teachers, work collaboratively with each other. We are fortunate to have as part of the team, a wide range of experience from a Teach First colleague through to a highly skilled and experienced lead practitioner. Their strength as a team has led to high student numbers at GCSE and A Level over a sustained period.
We are looking for somebody who is passionate about their subject, who will be able to work within a team-centred approach to planning and teaching a wonderful subject at all levels. Felixstowe School is a thriving and successful school, with a growing intake, situated in a lovely modern site, with the Suffolk coast and nature reserve within easy reach. We have fantastic students, great staff and a commitment to success for all. We have an excellent CPD programme led by a Deputy Headteacher, and are committed to staff development.

We value staff wellbeing; we have regular supervision from external professionals, offered to all staff, and adopt a sensible approach to policies, having a focus on fundamental pedagogy such as TLAC and Rosenshine.
