What skills and experience we're looking for

Oasis Academy Sholing is looking to recruit an innovative and outstanding Head of Physical Education to support the Principal, P.E dept, staff and our students as we ‘strive for excellence’.

The Physical Education department at OAS is a progressive and committed team that is driven to provide students with the skills and qualities for lifelong passion and participation in physical activity as well as opportunities for optimum performance. Our inclusive curriculum offers students the opportunity to succeed in numerous aspects of sporting performance. At key stage 4, we offer BTEC Sport, with an excellent uptake of students. Our focus on high-quality teaching has resulted in excellent progress and our results improving each year. An extensive extra-curricular programme offers students the opportunities to extend their learning, with excellent community links to local fitness centres, tennis clubs and Saints Community Champions.

The role and what we are looking for:

The successful candidate will be required to teach all abilities across KS3 and KS4 to the highest standard developing the culture for excellence in Teaching and Learning within Physical Education. A willingness to support the Academy ethos and support of extra-curricular activities within the Academy is essential. You must be able to use a range of teaching strategies to inspire and motivate our students and demonstrate a commitment to sharing best practice with colleagues in the department.
