Head of People and HR job summary

This is a new position in our family of schools. We advise you to read the introductory statement from our CEO, Stuart Anderson, in the job pack that is attached so that you fully understand the context for this. This is a significant change for us, and we want the right person to lead our new function. We hope that you will share this excitement and be motivated by this special role.

As the Head of People and HR you will join our executive leadership team and play a key role in embedding our vision across the Trust as well as our new strategic plan which you will help craft. You will also work collaboratively with Principals/Heads of School, school leadership teams, and central team to deliver a consistent level of services.

This role leads all People and HR related activity, from strategy and policy design to operational delivery and oversight ensuring we attract, retain and develop our people. In this senior role you will define and set the culture and support our drive for change and opportunity.

In this role, you will:

  • Design and deliver a high impact people strategy aligned with our vision and values.
  • Lead initiatives to attract, retain, and develop high-quality staff.
  • Drive a high-performing, engaged, and inclusive culture across the Trust.
  • Oversee HR policy, employee relations, and compliance.
  • Provide strategic insight to the CEO and Trust Leaders to inform key decisions.
  • Lead, coach, and inspire the HR team to deliver excellent people services.
  • Advise on complex employment cases as they arise, ensuring all aspects of these are handled correctly.

This is a full time, permanent position, working 37 hours per week.
