Outwood Academy Acklam, Middlesbrough is looking to appoint someone with a passion for Music and the Performing Arts to lead our amazing Performing Arts Department. The ability to teach music is essential.

About the Department
The Performing Arts Department consists of a small team of dedicated colleagues with access to amazing facilities; large theatre, music practice rooms and brand new, dedicated drama rooms. The department is also supported by One to One Music Tutors.
As a Head of Department you will be responsible for leading a department in your subject to ensure that a clear, effective and appropriate teaching and learning environment is being provided to students. Other responsibilities include giving a clear direction and purpose for your department through clear and cohesive leadership, supporting colleagues in the development of strategies and ensuring teacher trainees and ECTs are being provided with a supportive and developmental experience.
This is an excellent opportunity for any experienced subject teachers who have experience in supporting their Head of Department, or current Department Heads who are looking to join an organisation that can offer further progression into school leadership.
