Head of Performing Modern Foreign Languages (Spanish or French) job summary

Are you a dedicated, enthusiastic and highly motivated teacher of a modern foreign language? If so, we would like to meet you. We are looking for an outstanding teacher who has had experience of teaching Spanish or French within a secondary school setting. This post would equally suit either an experienced practitioner wanting a new challenge or a teacher wishing to work with a group of dynamic teachers in a small department in a small school. The role involves taking a lead role in a transformational school community by developing an enriching, exciting KS3 & 4 curriculum which leads to outstanding progress and attainment in your subject. To teach your students to an exceptional standard, and then to lead the appointment, training and development of future department teachers. To lead a professional community of subject teachers to ensure consistently excellent teaching and high standards across your department. Required from September 2021, the successful candidate will be a creative individual, excited by the challenge of working in language. They will be teaching either Spanish or French at KS3 and KS4 level. He or she will be a problem solver, looking for opportunities to craft engaging explorations and discoveries from any aspect of school life.

London Enterprise Academy is a Free School at the heart of London’s vibrant East End. The Academy opened in September 2014 with year 7’s only, in a former glass office block, which is fully renovated to a high standard. The Academy has capacity for six hundred students aged 11-16 when full. It provides a stimulating education and personalised curriculum within a supportive environment. All of our students are encouraged to stretch themselves to achieve their potential.

We now have pupils in year 7-11 and have delivered an excellent first set of GCSE’s where progress, attainment and EBacc are above National Average (Standard pass English 78% and maths 74%).
