Head of Religious Education job summary
Astrea Academy Sheffield Secondary Phase are looking for an exceptional Head of Religious Education to join their team.
The successful candidate will be accountable for leading, managing and developing the RE curriculum. They will be accountable for raising standards of scholar attainment and achievement within the RE department and to monitor amd support scholar progress.
As a Head of Department you will:
- Lead the development of appropriate curriculum, resources, feedback policies, assessment and teaching and learning stratergies in the department
- Plan differentiated teaching to build on scholars’ capabilities and prior knowledge
- Guide scholars to reflect on the progress they have made and their emerging needs and adapt classroom practice if necessary
We are looking for:
- Qualified teacher status
- Successful experience of teaching Religious Education at KS3 & KS4
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Religious Education or a very closely related subject area
